Laurel Mountain Ski Club is Officially Here!
Introducing The (New) Laurel Mountain Ski Club
We’d like to formally introduce you to the new Laurel Mountain Ski Club. The original LMSC was started long ago, thrived for many years, and eventually dissolved as our Mountain itself struggled to remain open and operational.
With the renewed investment in Laurel Mountain, regulars have coalesced in support once again, and over the last few seasons it has become clear that there is a desire to formalize our community and bring the ski club back. Last season saw several ad hoc meetings, visioning workshops, and initial events, all held in an effort to align on what we wanted to establish as a club.
We’ve Been Busy
Since the end of the last ski season, the Laurel Mountain Ski Club has been hard at work building a solid foundation to better serve our community of outdoor enthusiasts. Our first big accomplishment was incorporating the organization with the State of PA and the Federal Government.
Our next major accomplishment is our recent approval as a 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS. This allows the LMSC to operate as a tax-exempt nonprofit, making all donations to the club tax-deductible. This status also opens the door for greater community support and involvement through charitable giving. It reflects our commitment to being good stewards of both our community and the mountain we cherish.
Finally, we are excited to announce the launch of laurelskiclub.org. This site serves as the central hub for all club information, including membership details, event updates, and opportunities for involvement. The website will be continually updated with news and resources to keep our members informed and engaged throughout the year. This digital platform marks a significant step forward in enhancing communication within our community and making it easier than ever for new members to join and participate.

The Laurel Mountain Ski Club has made tremendous progress in just a few short months, and we are excited about the future. These foundational efforts have set the stage for a thriving, inclusive community dedicated to outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship at Laurel Mountain. We look forward to building on this momentum and welcoming new members to join us in our mission!
